The Market-Place at Esneh, Egypt, 1883. '...worthy of note is Esneh, a town of six thousand people, the capital of its province, enjoying a large trade with the Soudan. Our Artist has sketched a view of the market-place, with the dome and the tower of two mosques, and with the tents and stalls of merchants, some of whom appear to be inspecting carpets or pieces of cloth'. From "Illustrated London News", 1883.
