Battle Scene, before 1802. A group of cavalry soldiers huddled in the middle of the picture, fighting with sabers, is flanked by additional figures fighting, defeated or killed. The background is a vast landscape consisting mostly of a part of the sky obscured in the middle by swirling clouds. In the background, additional characters are shown, which are the continuation of the battle, but arranged in such a way that the confusion of the fight does not obscure the main group. A characteristic feature of these scenes was the extraordinary dynamism of people and animals, perfectly reflecting the hustle and bustle of battle.
