Sending out the apostles. Altar retable from the parish church of St. Barbara in Mikuszowice - the corps., c1470. The predilection for crowded, rhythmic groups of figures is visible in the body of the retabulum, where dense groups of apostles, with banderoles defining the places of their future missionary activity, surround Christ. Christ raises his hand in a gesture of blessing and says the words (written on the banderol): 'Ite in orbem universum et predicate dicentes' (Go into all the world and preach the gospel; literally: 'preach speaking').
