The Tourist in Iceland: old windmill, Reykjavik, 1881. 'The windmill at Reykjavik, of which one of our travelling Artists once made a Sketch, has evidently seen its best days; in fact, it is no longer a windmill, but serves for a dwelling-house, and only the skeleton of its huge vanes, which will soon be taken down for firewood, hangs upon the upper tower. The town of Reykjavik, situated in latitude 64 deg. 8 min. north, at the south-west corner of that large island in the North Atlantic Ocean, midway between Europe and America, may be considered rather out of the world.
