Saint Apostles, Christ-Man of Sorrows. Left Wing of the Altar Retable from Stary Zywiec, c1400. Additional Info: The left panel of the retable in All Saints Church in Stary Zywiec features six carved figurines of the Apostles on the obverses, the preserved individual attributes make it possible to identify St Peter (key), Andrew (cross), James the Greater (shell and staff). On the reverse, there is a painted Baroque (or perhaps copied in Baroque) depiction of Christ as the Man of Sorrows, equipped with the Instruments of the Passion-stick, birches, whip, and crown of thorns.
