'The address for the picture is Hogarth Press, 37 Mecklenburgh Square, WC 1. This is our Monks House on the back. Virginia Woolf - and thanks'. Woolf and her husband Leonard, leading lights of the Bloomsbury Group, bought Monk's House at Rodmell in East Sussex as a retreat from London life. The stamps, with the heads of Queen Victoria and her great-grandson King George VI, celebrate the centenary of first adhesive postage stamp.
