Collection stamp of Sir William Musgrave, late 18th century. Musgrave was a collector of books and prints, who became a Trustee of the British Museum in about 1784. His manuscripts and books, some donated in 1790, and others bequeathed after his death in 1799, formed the basis of the biographical collection of the Museum's library.
