House of Ximenes de Cisneros, Madrid, Spain, 2001. The Casa Cisneros is a palace located on the Plaza de la Villa. Built in Plateresque style in 1537, at the request of Benito Jiménez de Cisneros, a 16th-century architect and nephew of Cardinal Ximenes de Cisneros (1436-1517), Grand Inquisitor, promoter of the Crusades in North Africa, and founder of the Alcalá University.
