The Cup Public House, Birmingham Road, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, 2005. The pub sign of The Cup pub on Birmingham Road, Sutton Coldfield. The name of The Cup Inn is believed to derive from a silver cup which was presented in 1846 to a jockey at Holly Knoll racecourse, the first of three racecourses in Sutton Park area in the 19th century.
