Bronze lamp, 19th century?, (1881). Etching of a lamp in the form of an ass's head, round which a dwarf is clinging. It was probably made in Italy, possibly in the 16th century, or more likely later, before 1866. It is mounted on a wooden stand or pedestal. From "The South Kensington Museum", a book of engraved illustrations, with descriptions, of the works of art in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (formerly known as the South Kensington Museum). [Sampson Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington, London, 1881]
