'Battle of Kandahar - "The 92nd Are To Take The Guns"', (1901). The Battle of Kandahar in southern Afghanistan was fought on 1 September 1880 between the British under General Frederick Sleigh Roberts and Afghan forces led by Ayub Khan. It was the last major conflict of the Second Anglo-Afghan War. The 92nd Highlanders are seen advancing, with a piper in the foreground. After a painting made before 1899.
