'The Effect of British Shell Fire', (1919). Scene from the First World War, 1914-1919: "Our artillery destroyed a convoy of [German] motor transports on the road". The above photograph is of the wreckage cleared from the road afterwards, and gives a vivid impression of the deadly accuracy of our guns, both sides of the road being strewn with wreckage.'
