'Lieutenant General Talmash', 1784. Thomas Tollemache (c1651-1694), English soldier who abandoned King James in favour of William of Orange during the Glorious Revolution. For his services, King William III made him governor of Portsmouth and colonel of the Coldstream Guards; in 1689 he became a member of parliament.
