The Battle of Chillianwala, in the Chillianwala region of Punjab, India, (now Mandi Bahauddin, Pakistan), was fought in January 1849 during the Second Anglo-Sikh War. The battle, between the British East India Company and the Sikh Empire, was a bloody one. Both armies held their positions at the end of the battle and both sides claimed victory.
