The Marquise d'Hautpoul de Seyre and Sir Harry Stonor aboard 'HMY Victoria and Albert', 1933. The Marquise (born Julia Caroline Stonor 1862-1950) and her brother Sir Harry Julian Stonor (1859-1939) were friends and courtiers of King George V and Queen Mary. Julia was a close companion of the queen, and Harry was Groom in Waiting, Deputy Master of the Royal Household, and Secretary and Registrar of the Order of Merit. 'HMY Victoria and Albert', launched in 1899, was a steamship used by the royal family, particularly for their trips to their summer home, Osborne House, on the Isle of Wight.
