Varvakeion Athena, from Athens, 2nd century. Stauette of Athena Parthenos dressed in sleeveless peplos girt at the waist with two snakes. She wears aegis, sandals, and helmet withthree crests shaped as a sphinx and two pegasoi. She holds a shield at her left side, behind which curls a snake. Dimensions: height: 94 cm
