Jacobean Mansion Audley End, Essex, 20th century. Early 17th-century country house outside Saffron Walden, Essex in England. It was once a prodigy house, and one of the finest Jacobean houses in England. Built by Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk in 1603, primarily for entertaining the king, James I.
