'Christ in the House of Martha and Mary', 17th century. According to the Gospel of Luke, Jesus visited the house of two sisters, Martha and Mary. He admonished Martha for her preoccupation with domestic tasks rather than paying attention to his discourse, as Mary did, after Martha complained that Mary had left her to do all the work. Found in the collection of the State A Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow.
