Bridge and Castle of St Angelo, Rome, Italy. Stereoscopic card detail. The cylindrical Mole of Hadrian was built in the 2nd century as a mausoluem for the emperor Hadrian and his family. Hadrian also built the Bridge of St Angelo. Today better known as the Castel Sant' Angelo, the mausoleum was converted into a fortress early in the 5th century.
