Visit of Pontiac and the Indians to Major Gladwin, 1763 (c1880). Pontiac was a chief of the Ottawa people. He led a rebellion against the British in the Great Lakes region after they won the French and Indian War. He unsuccessfully besieged Fort Detroit, which was commanded by Major Henry Gladwin.
