'Thomas Howard, Duke of Norfolk', 1784. Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk (1536-1572), English nobleman and politician, raised a Protestant. After the death of his third wife, Norfolk made efforts to marry Mary, Queen of Scots. Norfolk was imprisoned by his second cousin Queen Elizabeth I and executed for this.
