The Great Exhibition of 1851 at Hyde Park, London; showing the crowded omnibus taking visitors to the exhibition as well as the different types of visitors attending the exhibition. The 'Great Exhibition of the Works of the Industry of all Nations' was conceived by Prince Albert. Crystal Palace was built to house this exhibition and was the first large-scale prefabricated ferrovitreous (iron and glass) structure. It was designed by the landscape designer Joseph Paxton.
