The coronation of Quintana, 1859. Manuel José Quintana (1772-1857), Spanish politician, playwright and tutor of Queen Isabel II, is crowned by her, with a gold laurel wreath, as an illustrious poet on 25 March 1855 in the Senate chamber. Writers, journalists, poets, politicians, diplomats, military officers and other royals are in attendance.
