Sightseers crowd around the gates of Buckingham Palace, London. This view shows the public east facade as it looked after Edward Blore closed off the courtyard with a new wing in 1847 but before Sir Aston Webb's more familiar refacing of 1913. The picture pre-dates the Queen Victoria Memorial which was erected in 1911.
