Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian visiting a sick person and administering aid, 3rd century, (15th century), 1877. They were two Christian brothers, physicians by profession, from Arabia, (3rd century). They practised medicine in Cilicia, Augusta Eufratensis (near Syria), never charging the sick and healing many. They were beheaded by order of Diocletian around the year 300.
