Russian author Alexander Kuprin with his wife in Yalta, Crimea, early 20th century. Kuprin (1870-1938) was a short story writer described by Vladimir Nabokov as the Russian Kipling. He is probably best remembered for The Duel (1905). He married Maria Karlovna Davydova in 1902. Found in the collection of the State Museum of AS Pushkin, Moscow.
