Room in the Mariinskaya Hospital where Fyodor Kokoshkin was murdered, Petrograd, Russia, 1918. Kokoshkin and Andrei Shingarev were two of the leaders of the Constitutional Democratic Party (known as the Kadets). The party was outlawed by the Bolsheviks after the October Revolution and Kokoshkin and Shingarev were imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress. They were transferred to the Mariinskaya Hospital on 6 January 1918 after becoming ill, but were brutally murdered there the following night by Red Guards with the connivance of the commandant of the hospital. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
