Roman bust of a Dacian tarabostes (nobleman), early 2nd century. A fragment of a monumental statue of a Dacian prisoner from Trajan's Forum in Rome. Dacia, which corresponds roughly to modern Romania, was conquered by Roman armies in 105-106 during the reign of the Emperor Trajan. Found in the collection of The Hermitage, St Petersburg.
