Prince Arthur on board 'HMY Victoria and Albert', c1925. Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn (1850-1942), was the seventh child and third son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. 'HMY Victoria and Albert', launched in 1899, was a steamship used by the royal family, particularly for their trips to their summer home, Osborne House, on the Isle of Wight.
