Presentation party at the Olympic Games, Athens, Greece, 1906. King George of Greece (1863-1913) plus other dignitaries. Successful competitors were presented with crowns of olive leaves. Athens hosted the first Olympics of the modern era in 1896. In 1906 it hosted the Intercalated Games, the only games held outside of the normal four yearly cycle.
