Munitions production, Burnham on Crouch, Essex, September 1915. Seated men making rope handles in the 'splicing tent' at TT Nethercoat and Co's, East Works, Burnham on Crouch, Essex. Nethercoat & Co were chandlers and sailmakers who during the First World War also made ammunition carriers and tents at their East Works and West Works. The splicing tent may have been a temporary extension to the works.
