Mrs Jane Hogarth - The Artist's Wife. Jane Hogarth was the daughter of Britain's leading Baroque artist Sir James Thornhill (1676-1734), in whose studio Hogarth worked for a time. Jane's elopement with Hogarth in 1729 caused an estrangement between Hogarth and Thornhill, but this was overcome eventually.
