Letter from Edmund Burke to John Douglas, 31st July 1791. Letter written from Margate by Burke to John Douglas, Bishop of Salisbury, asking advice as to the propriety of presenting a copy of a new work (his Appeal from the New to the Old Wigs) to the King (George III), and commenting on affairs in France, with especial reference to the situation of the French queen, Marie Antoinette. From the second series of Facsimiles of royal, historical, literary and other autographs in the Department of Manuscripts, British Museum: Series I-V. (London, 1899).
