Khoekhoe man with assegaai, c.1675-c.1725. Man dressed in loincloth of animal skin with a sheepskin over his right shoulder. In his left hand he holds an Assegaai (throwing spear). Striking is his thin beard and mustache. Perhaps a take on the facial hair of the Dutch in the Cape Colony.
