ID tag from the American Civil War. Moore enlisted at age 18 and died of disease in 1864. Gilt brass disk with attachment hole at the top. Obverse: struck with General George B. McClellan’s profile bust and “MAJ.GEN.G.B. McCLELLAN,/ PENINSULAR CAMPAIGN” around the perimeter. Reverse: "CO.1/ 5th U.S.COLORED./ VOLS" die stamped at center and "C.P MORE./ MASHLAND. STOCK CO.O.O." around the perimeter.
