Germany's two mighty airships, the 'Graf Zeppelin' and the 'Hindenburg', 1936. The two airships were used for regular transatlantic flights in the 1930s. They were the largest flying machines ever built. The 'Hindenburg' was destroyed when it caught fire while mooring at Lakehurst, New Jersey on 6 May 1937. 13 passengers and 22 members of the crew were killed in the accident.
