'Larochefoucault-Liancourt', François Alexandre Frédéric, duc de la Rochefoucauld-Liancourt, (c1820s). De La Rochefoucauld (1747-1827) was a French social reformer who visited England and the United States. He set up spinning machines on his estate, founded a school, and was one of the first promoters of vaccination in France.
