Florence Austral (1894-1968), Australian soprano. Florence Austral (real name Wilson) specialised in Wagnerian roles. Here she is seen in costume for the role of Brunnhilde in Wagner's Die Walkure, the part in which she made her Covent Garden debut in 1922.
