'Fiddlestick versus broomstick', 1831. Paganini standing on a chair with a fiddle in one hand and bow in the other. Around the table sit John Key (Lord Mayor of London), Henry Brougham, Charles (Earl) Grey and Lord John Russell. The freedom of the City was presented to Lord John Russell at the Mansion House on 9 July 1831; Paganini was invited to play a concerto.
