Early Blanket Factory, Witney, Oxfordshire, 1860-1922. Women sorting wool in the blanket factory. The Witney Blanket Company was incorporated in 1710, the secret of its high quality blankets, famous for centuries, was apparently the use of water from the River Windrush in the manufacturing process.
