Cast of modillion from cornice, from the portico of the Forum in Ostia, late 18th century-early 19th century. The Forum was given its definitive monumental form under the Emperor Hadrian in the early second century. This cast shows a cyma reversa frame decorated with leaf-and-dart and acanthus leaf with a double volute on the side.
