An illustrated songsheet, 1831. Two images with the songs 'Gog and Magog rewarded' and 'King William and the citizens of London' beneath. The left image entitled 'Going in state to open new London Bridge' shows Gog and Magog rowing a boat containing King William IV and Queen Adelaide. Gog and Magog are the traditional guardians of the City of London. The right image shows the Duke of Wellingtob as a cock striding away from a donkey (John Key). John Key was elected Lord Mayor of London in 1830 and served for two years. This refers to the fiasco of the cancelled banquet of the previous November.
