Alfred Henry Thesiger, Lord Justice of Appeal, 1880. Thesiger was called to the bar in 1862, and in 1873 he became a Queen's Counsel. In 1877 he was appointed Attorney-General to the Prince of Wales. In the same year he was appointed Lord Justice of the Court of Appeal at the early age of thirty-nine, and was sworn of the privy council.
