The winner of the race was Tarquinio Provini on the number 6 machine, also an MV Agusta. Ubbiali was one of the stars of motorcycling in the 1950s, winning 9 World Championships as well as 5 TT races in the Lightweight and Ultra-Lightweight classes. Provini secured 4 TT wins in all.
