Isabella II of Spain, c1844. Isabel II (1830-1904), Queen of Spain, wears the sashes of the Spanish Order of Noble Ladies of Queen Maria Luisa and of the Portuguese orders of Queen Saint Isabel of Portugal and of Our Lady of the Conception of Villaviciosa. This is one of three copies of Federico de Madrazo's 1844 portrait of Isabella II, held in the Museum of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, which is part of the Prado Museum's collection. Due to its status as an official portrait, numerous replicas and copies of this portrait of Isabella II exist, varying greatly in style and quality, and showing slight variations in composition compared to the painting in the San Fernando Academy.
