Cast of slab of riders from North frieze of Parthenon (figures 100-102, Slab XXXVII =Michaelis XXXII), 1817-1850. The Parthenon Frieze, a marble sculpture created to adorn the upper part of the Parthenon's naos, was made between c443 and 437 BCE, most likely under the direction of Phidias. This portion of the original slab is now in the British Museum.
