Martin Behaim, (1459-1507), Also known as Martin of Bohemia, German textile merchant, cartographer and astronomer, 1892. He served King John II of Portugal as an adviser in matters of navigation, taking part in a voyage to West Africa. After an illustration by Gebhard, c. 1853. From "America. History of its discovery from primitive times to the modern era", written by Rodolfo Cronau, Volume I, published in Barcelona, 1892.
