Expliquez-moi donc, monsieur Badoulard..., 1851. ...pourquoi nous passons tous en ce moment aux yeux du gouvernement pour des démagogues toujours prêts à nous insurger!.... je suis venu au poste en citadine, ma femme m'a dit que si je me montrais dans les rues en uniforme je pourrais être arrêté par les Sergens de ville!.....(You must explain something to me, Monsieur Badoulard, why is it that the government thinks we are all demagogues and ready for insurgence? I went to my post as a good citizen, but my wife thinks I might be arrested by the city police if they found me walking around in uniform.)
