Entrance into Avignon of King Louis VIII of France (1187-1226) and the papal legate, Cardinal Romanus of Sant'Angelo, on 12 September 1226, (1877). Crusade against the Cathars (1209-1244). The city had just capitulated after a three-month siege. After a miniature in "Chroniques de Hainaut", 1446-1448.
