Robert I of Normandy, (c1000-1035), Duke of Normandy, (1027-1035), 15th century (1877). Late in 1034 Robert I decided to make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. He became ill during the journey and was carried in a litter by Saracens. From a miniature in "Chroniques de Normandie", 15th century.
